Technical University of Braunschweig
Founded 1745 as Collegium Carolinum and divided into Faculties of Arts, Commerce, and Technology 1835. Reorganized 1862, became Technische Hochschule 1877, and Technische Universität 1968. The Braunschweig branch of the College of Education, Lower Saxony, incorporated 1978. An autonomous institution under the jurisdiction of and financed by the State of Lower Saxony.
