National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations - Paris (INALCO)
Founded 1699 as Royal School, reorganized 1795 and 1866. Became Ecole nationale 1870, Centre universitaire 1969, and acquired present status and title 1991. Since 1985, INALCO has been recognized as a 'Grand établissement à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel'.
