University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (JU)
Founded 1991, incorporating the Faculty of Agronomy (detached part of Prague Agricultural University) with independent Faculty of Education, and recruiting additional staff from several research institutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences located in the area (Botany, Entomology, Hydrobiology, Landscape Ecology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology of Plants, Parasitology, Soil Science), and from local hospitals and religious institutions. Close extramural collaboration and a high proportion of part-time teachers remain a typical feature of the University, financed by the State.
