Founded 1829. The College has grown through mergers with several institutions which include the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St. Thomas Hospitals, Chelsea College, Queen Elizabeth College, and the Institute of Psychiatry. Granted degree-awarding power in its own right 2006.
