The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA)
Founded 1999, became operational 2001. The only public University in Zanzibar. The total university annual budget is about the US 6,000. The Government of Zanzibar contributes a total of 40% of SUZA budget share and 45% comes from the internal source of revenue such as fees collections, consultancy and other university revenue, while the remaining percentage is contributed by development partners (DP) in contributing a specific projects or programmes.
