Founded as Yaba Technical Institute 1947 and renamed Yaba College of Technology 1963. Became an autonomous Federal Government owned institution with the promulgation of Yaba College of Technology Decree N° 23 of 1969. Presently the College is governed under the Federal Polytechnics Act [CAP, 139] of the Laws of the Federation 1990, and the Federal Polytechnics (Amendment) Decree 1993.

Requirements

Admission details: For National Diploma (ND): 5 credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics at Senior school Certificate Examination (SSCE), General Certificate Examination (GCE) or approved equivalent. For Higher National Diploma (HND) and BSc (Ed.): 5 credit passes as indicated for ND and a Minimum of Lower Credit at ND level in addition to one year compulsory industrial training or minimum of National Certificate Examination (NCE) at merit level.
