Founded 1981 as the Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT), by the government of Kenya with assistance of the Japanese government. Formally opened 1982. Became Constituent College of Kenyatta University and acquired present title 1988. Acquired present status 1994.
