Weimar Bauhaus University
Founded 1860 as Academy of Fine Arts, Applied Arts added 1907, became 'Staatliches Bauhaus Weimar' 1919 and college 1926. Applied Arts detached 1950. Reorganized 1954 and granted full University status. Faculty structure replaced under 1968 reform by series of subject sections. Reorganized 1991/92. Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Science and Art. Acquired present name 1995.
