The origins go back to 1786 when the Department of Agriculture was established at Charles Ferdinand University. Founded 1906 as Faculty of Agriculture at Prague Polytechnic (now CTU). Independent University established 1952. Acquired present status 1995. Formerly known as Czech University of Agriculture in Prague.
