Founded 1893 as Agricultural Department of Kyiv Polytechnical Institute, reorganized 1921 as Kyiv Agricultural Institute, reorganized 1922 as Dnipropetrovsk Agricultural Institute and acquired present status and title 1991. Formerly known as Dnipropetrovs'kij Deržavnij Agrarnij Universitet (Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian University).
