Istanbul Technical University (ITU)
Founded 1944 replacing the former School of Engineering, the history of which can be traced back to 1773. Reorganized 1982 following the Higher Education Reform. An autonomous State Institution. It is the world's third-oldest technical university dedicated to engineering sciences as well as social sciences recently, and is one of the most prominent educational institutions in Turkey.
