Founded 1975, incorporating the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Ankara. Reorganized 1982 following the Higher Education Reform and incorporating the Academy of Engineering and Architecture, founded 1967. Firat (Euphrates) University is an autonomous State institution.
