The origins of the University date back to the Gevher Nesibe Health Centre, founded in 1206. Closed with the fall of the Ottoman Empire. The establishment of a Medical Hospital in Kayseri in 1969, in association with Hacettepe University and the Faculty of Business Administration in 1977 formed the nucleus of the University of Kayseri. Reorganized 1983, following the Higher Education Reform and acquired present title. An autonomous State institution.
