Founded 1953 as All-union Correspondence Institute of Food Industry. Became Moscow State Institute of Food Industry 1993, and acquired present status and title 2003. Formerly known as Moskovskaja Gosudarstvennaja Tehnologičeskaja Akademija (Moscow State Technological Academy).
